Wintercamp 2017

In January the Scouts went on a Winter camping weekend at Scout HQ Gilwell Park, which is on the edge of Epping Forest, near London. Wintercamp is an activity camp running right in the middle of winter where the weather extremes combined with the best activities going mean a very exhilarating weekend.

They had a great time as Carwyn Owens explains:

Winter Camp was brilliant. Some of the activities I did were a climbing wall, a cave bus (which is a mobile cave with lots of tunnels to crawl through), flight and driving simulators, axe throwing and cart building. Archie and Jamie were brave enough to go on a giant ride called “Turbo” which applied 4G by spinning and lifted to a 90 degree angle! There was a cinema in the evening and we saw “Finding Dory” and ate lots of sweets. There was also a digger, tank driving and quad biking – there just wasn’t enough time to do everything I wanted to do so I’m going back next year. It was very muddy but I didn’t get cold and the food was delicious!
